Glowchord

Glowchord does not collect any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer never receives your songs, your settings or anything about how you use the app.

Your songs

Songs you import are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, they are also stored in your own private iCloud database, so your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account can see them. Apple processes that data under its own privacy policy; the developer has no access to it.

Importing a song

When you share a page from Safari, the page you are already looking at is handed to the app and processed on your device. When you paste a web address into the app, the app downloads that one page directly from its website, the same way a browser would. The website sees an ordinary request from your device. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any other service. On devices with Apple Intelligence, the text may be tidied up by Apple's on-device model, which also runs on your device.

Playing together

A live session connects nearby devices directly over your local network or Bluetooth. The host's songbook, current song and key are sent only to the devices that joined that session, and nowhere else. This is why the app asks for local network access.

Settings

Your preferences, such as the appearance, are stored on your device only.

Children

Because the app collects no data, it collects none from children either.
